
Dr. Joyce Y. Kim, OD
Dr. Joyce Kim received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the University of California at Berkeley. She then attended Pacific University in Oregon where she was awarded her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Optometrist Association. She has been dedicated to serving the Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, and San Jose community in her practice for over 40 years with many long-time patients. She continues to provide the highest quality care with a genuine caring attitude.
Dr. Kim lives in Palo Alto. She ran a marathon for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fundraiser in Anchorage in 2007 and climbed the half dome in Yosemite with her husband. She enjoys golf especially when the sun is rising. She enjoys singing with the chancel choir at Menlo Church. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Elaina S. Chi, OD
Dr. Elaina Chi received her bachelors degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She then attended State University of New York College of Optometry where she was awarded her Doctor of Optometry degree. Her externships included St. Albans VA Hospital in Queens, NY and the Omni Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been practicing in Sunnyvale and San Jose for over 20 years providing the highest level of care for both vision and medical eye conditions. Dr. Chi especially enjoys fitting CRT lenses which has helped to slow down the progression of nearsightedness in many of her young patients, including her own son.
Dr. Chi likes to write poetry and is an aspiring song writer. She also enjoys outdoor activities to appreciate the beauty in all things created by God. She looks forward to serving your eye care needs.
The Annual Eye Exam
The recommended frequency for eye exams for adults is every 12 months if you have glasses, contacts, have had eye surgery, are in a visually demanding industry, or have other risk factors. For other adults, it is every 24 months. You can read the advice of the American Optometric Association.

Soft Contact Lenses

RGP Contact Lenses
Our doctors are experienced with custom fit lenses for keratoconus and high astigmatism. Some advantages of Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) lenses are durability, crisp vision and high oxygen permeability.
Orthokeratology (CRT)
Our eye doctors are certified and experienced in fitting corneal refractive therapy (CRT) lenses. CRT lenses are worn at bedtime and removed in the morning. CRT allows patients to be free of glasses and contacts during the day. You can read more about this procedure at www.paragonvision.com.
